I had to skip a few days, sorry about that. Was simply too exhausted the past two nights to sit down and write something.
Here's an interesting thought! What's in your water? Well, there's a 100% chance that it contains at least 1 molecule of water that was once drank by Cleopatra. I think that is so freaking cool, but then perhaps I get a little nerdy about such facts. I am sure more practical people would say, so what? Ah well . . .
Friday, I did little but work. Nothing much exciting to talk about there.
Yesterday, I was at the Preakness. It was a long exhausting day because of my neck, but I did ok with it, which is encouraging. Had a really great group of people to be around this time. In front of us were a group where most of the women were originally from the Gentilly area of New Orleans. Next to me was a guy and his girlfriend. He was originally from Texas and grew up on a ranch there. He lives in D.C. but keeps a horse out in Virginia. He used to do polo, but wants to switch to endurance riding. He was really cool to talk with about the races. Behind us were a group of guys from North Carolina. They did get drunk and a little loud, but they never tried to run over the top of me or anyone else. Was nice to be among Southerners who know how to party without being rude.
Well, now we have another Triple try coming up in New York. Can California Chrome do it? I think not, but I guess we shall see. I am thinking either Wicked Strong, my Kentucky Derby pick, or Ride on Curlin are going to play spoiler.
Today, I went over to Berkley Springs. I had a fantastic lunch at Tari's. It was an Atlantic swordfish sandwich with olive tapenade. I also did a desert, which is rare for me, but with candied pecans over an apply tart, I couldn't resist. I was glad I didn't!
Then, I went back to Sharpsburg, and hiked a trail on the battlefield to the Sherrick house. The only downside - the ticks! I had 9 on me with two attached. YUCK.
Now it's time for the close of another weekend and we are getting near June. Where as time gone? It's hard to believe that it's been so long since you left me and that I've only seen you once since then. It's such a huge change and one that has made me most sad.
Friday, I counted 43 Kia's. Yesterday, I counted 51 Kia's. Today, I counted 65 Kia's. Funny how it got more and more each day.
I did have an extended conversation with you today that light up my world after hearing nothing from you all day yesterday. What happiness and joy those rare moments like the old days bring me. I love you, Alexa. Will you marry me?
Always wishing for better times,
MNP
