So today's new fact for me came from the new book that I bought yesterday, Brass Ankle Blues by Rachel Harper. The title intrigued me and made me decide to pick up the book. I didn't however have a clue what "brass ankles" referred to until I started reading it. It seems "brass ankles" was a term to indicate those of a tri-racial isolate (America Indian, Black and White). This is very cool, because that is my background on my father's side. I thought it was pretty interesting that a work of fiction I picked up had to do with that mix. I must say, too, as someone who loves to touch interesting textures that he paper used in this book is phenomenal. It is smooth, slightly opaque and has a pleasant smell that allows just a hint of the glue smell through from the binding. I am weird, LOL, but then I imagine, you already know that.
I finished the final pill this morning of the steroid. I have had to deal with some withdrawal symptoms today - it's made me edgy and anxious feeling - but I am glad to be done with it because it really wrecked my GI tract while I was taking it. I can't say that it has helped my balance or my strength, but I guess I will no for sure on Monday. It sure hasn't helped the pain. It's here today ever bit as bad as it has ever been.
I tried not to go out too much today in that nasty cold, sleety weather we had. It just tends to make my neck worse. I had a few errands that couldn't be put off; however, and while I was out, I counted 23 Kia's. I also saw a picture of two Princesses - that made me think of you.
Here's hoping you survived the nasty day. Better weather is supposed to be ahead. I hope I hear from you soon about Saturday, just so I know we are on or not. I won't bug you about it, but if I don't hear back, I guess it's a no then. I will be hoping it's not a no and hoping that you will see that us is worth another chance, a chance where we both work at it and that you will marry me.
Sending you my love,
MNP
