I had seen before that in Japan they tend to grow watermelons into a square shape. They do this so they are easier to stack at grocery stores and the like. What I had never seen were all the other shapes they would mold them into or what people are willing to pay: http://kotaku.com/japan-has-more-than-just-square-watermelons-way-more-823476111/all. It's a little crazy. I like the idea of all the crazy shapes, but wouldn't pay an exorbitant price for one. I can't wait for some watermelon on those hot summer days.
Today was a day with a bit of adversity here and there. The biggest being my SUV. I got the alternator back in, got the drivebelt back on and got everything else put back together, but when I was test driving afterwards, I knew something was wrong. It was squeaking pretty good. There's a leak of coolant coming from a spot with a rubber gasket. I imagine the gasket is going bad. I really can't get to the area, as I don't have a motor lift and all that sort of stuff, so into the shop it goes. There always seems to be another bill just when you are getting dug out of a hole. Ah well, that's life. Can't let it get you down.
Tomorrow is Friday, three weeks out from my surgery. It suddenly dawned on me today that my surgery will take place on the exact day a year ago that my friend Carol died. Glad I won't be in the same hospital.
Because my car was on the blink, I had to miss my counseling session. Was bummed because I wanted to make some more progress. Hopefully, I can get a date rescheduled, before surgery because I won't be able to drive for a while after it.
I counted 32 Kia's today, had an Alexa ranking SPAM message and was reading a book and nearly did a double-take. The author was talking about how he and his wife had broken up while dating and then reconciled and did it better. Her name was Alexandra.
The best news of my day were the few text exchanges that we had. It certainly wasn't like old times, but it felt nice to be getting texts from you and then answering them back.
Goodnight,
MNP
PS: Think on this: Will you marry me?
